Terms &
conditions
Clear terms for purchasing natural mineral specimens from Avalon Crystals & Minerals.
Last updated 7 September 2026Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
About Avalon and these terms
Avalon Crystals & Minerals is operated by Jamieson Henry Chapman, a sole trader at 11 Gouldsbrook Terrace, Crewkerne, Somerset, United Kingdom. You can contact Avalon at info@avaloncrystal.com or +44 (0)7496 110536.
These terms apply to orders placed directly with Avalon online, by email or by another agreed distance-selling method. The version supplied or available when an order is placed forms part of that order. Any later change will not retrospectively alter an accepted order.
Natural mineral specimens
Every mineral is a natural, individual geological object. Crystal contacts, matrix edges, inclusions, colour zoning and other natural features may be part of its character. Photographs aim to show the actual specimen accurately, although screens and lighting can produce small colour differences.
Known repairs, treatments or significant damage will be disclosed where known. A clearly described natural feature is not by itself a fault, but this does not affect your rights if a specimen is faulty, materially not as described or unfit for its stated purpose.
Please ask for additional photographs, measurements or condition information before ordering if a particular feature is important to you.
Prices, orders and payment
Prices are stated in pounds sterling. Any currency conversion shown is an estimate only; your bank or payment provider determines the final exchange rate and charges. Avalon is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added separately.
Available payment methods and the full amount, including delivery, will be shown or confirmed before you commit to purchase. Goods are normally dispatched only after cleared payment. An order becomes binding when Avalon expressly accepts it. If a specimen is unavailable, a clear pricing error has occurred or a payment appears unauthorised, Avalon may decline the order and promptly return money already paid.
Reservations and deposits
A reservation or deposit is available only by written agreement. Before payment, Avalon will confirm the amount, reservation period and circumstances in which it is refundable. These arrangements never remove any cancellation or refund right that the law gives you.
Delivery, risk and international customs
The carrier, estimated timescale and complete delivery charge are confirmed before payment. Some qualifying UK orders may include free standard delivery. Full packing and service information is available on the Delivery & packing page.
Unless another date is agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is made. Delivery estimates are not guarantees where events outside reasonable control cause delay. Risk passes to you when the goods are physically received by you or a person you nominate.
For international orders, the buyer is responsible for import duties, local taxes, customs clearance and destination-country restrictions. Avalon will declare the contents and value accurately and cannot agree to undervalue a parcel.
Cancelling an online order
If you are a UK consumer buying at a distance, you normally have 14 days from the day after receiving the goods to tell Avalon that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return them. Email is the quickest way to give notice.
For a change-of-mind return, you normally pay the direct return cost. Please pack the specimen with the same degree of care and use a suitable tracked and insured service. You may handle it only as much as reasonably necessary to inspect it; a lawful deduction may be made for diminished value caused by handling beyond that.
A qualifying refund includes the item price and the cost of the least expensive standard outbound delivery offered. Any extra paid for premium delivery need not be refunded. Avalon will issue the refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or evidence that you sent them back, whichever is earlier. Bespoke or clearly personalised items may be excluded from the change-of-mind right where the law permits.

To Avalon Crystals & Minerals, info@avaloncrystal.com:
I give notice that I cancel my contract for the sale of the following goods: [specimen]. Ordered on [date] and received on [date].
Name: [your name]
Address: [your address]
Order reference: [reference]
Date: [date]
Returns, faults and transit damage
Please contact Avalon before returning a specimen so that safe packing and the correct return address can be agreed. Retain the original packaging wherever possible.
If an item arrives damaged, please report it as soon as reasonably possible—ideally within 48 hours—and provide photographs of the specimen, parcel and packaging. This helps with the carrier claim but does not shorten or remove your statutory rights.
If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund under UK consumer law. Because mineral specimens are unique, an identical replacement may not be possible; Avalon will discuss a suitable alternative or refund. Avalon will meet reasonable return costs where the law requires it.
Website use, intellectual property and liability
Website text, branding and original photographs belong to Avalon or are used with permission. They may not be copied, republished or used commercially without written consent. Carrier names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.
Avalon does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. For consumer orders, Avalon is responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of breaking the contract, but not for business losses or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
Website information is provided in good faith and may be corrected or updated. Temporary interruption of the website does not alter an order already accepted.
